My bedroom was needing a makeover.

When I moved to this house I fell in love at first sight the the deep blue walls of the bedroom.
Only days after I knew I was pregnant and my desire to keep a clean room as well as a clean house was fading and other responsabilities took place so my chances to make this my dream bedroom were really short. After almost 3 years I decided that I needed my place back ,with no toys or small and dangerous objects. I needed a Sanctuary. That's what I seek in my bedroom. A place of solitude, a calming island in the middle of the adventurous days. The creation of a restful haven rests in one word. Comfort.

Prevailing home décor trends speak to definitive comfort, especially in the bedroom. We took a trip to the closest IKEA and I designed someway in my mind and in paper how to put all this ideas together. A dark blue duvet covers with lime green blooms, layered chenille blankets and sheets in pale green, yellow and tan bedskirt, and pillows galore in organic off white with green stitches,— and I had to have my favorite : a black pillow embroidered with white birds. Yes,feathers, you got that right.

Our daughter painted in off white our old vintage yellowish art deco bed tables and drawers and we got a new dresser with an old vintage feeling in off white too, replacing the old furniture. I took off the bed head and by the way I have a lot of vintage furniture to giveaway if someone is interested.

The theme for comfort plays on the trend of mixing fabrics and textures. It’s more about blending fabrics and colors that complement each other rather than exactly match each other. It’s about creating the unexpected. Uniqueness .It's about what makes you feel good.

On the other end of the flare spectrum, taking a cue from nature, many of today’s bedding styles incorporate bold designs but in patterns of leaves, botanicals and blooms — one of the most arresting looks is the mixing and matching of pillow covers and sheets in opposing hues of the bedspread .

I wish I had an old picture to show the : before and after, but trust me,this is much better and I'm happy.

Third Fall moadboard: Enchanted Forest

The enchanted forest palette is filled with the color tones of its surprising creatures.
Birds feathers and furry beasts play with a pantone of worm browns and vegetal green tones.
Expressive casual spirit. Organic cotton and eco-friendly fabrics have a high level in this fall scale. Structured Cottons and knits and casual denim provide a contrast.
Checks and Tartan celebrate a real comeback to the 80's fashionable plad.
Animal Prints redefine classy motives in complex pattern.

I made my own treasury again since it is so hard to find room on etsy.It makes me remember the story of Jesus when He was born and their parents could not find room in a regular inn so they ended up in a manger.Sometimes we are so busy that He can't find room in our schedules either.
I put together my collection of favorites and best seller for you to enjoy in the color of today for organics and not so :Green.

We were at the Front Page of etsy today

Aly's creation was featured this morning about 11 am at the Frnt Page of etsy. This is how she describes the romantic and more than original collar:

This collar is a collaboration project with norakaren.etsy.com

The peacock has been handpainted by her on denim Fabric and I had designed the collar with denim and crocheted lace to be the perfect accesory to go with jeans and a simple top.

The colors are just exciting and striking... greens, and blues, the lace is royal blue.

Good job Aly and cheers! for more to come.

Here is your place to decide

If you’ve ever spent an hour trying to figure out what to wear, spent hours searching to find the right shoes to go with a skirt your just purchased or have had trouble putting an outfit together (like yours truly), here’s a solution: go to polyvore.com. This is a web site where I go mostly to show my unique items, since they love uniqueness. There you can mix and match pieces from hundreds of websites to create a virtual outfit or simple create a clothing/accessory collage. It’s super easy, really fun and a little addicting. To help filter through the hundreds of choices, you can type in exactly what you’re looking (example: brown wedges, blue purse, etc.) and poof! A wide selection of choices is displayed. Just drag and drop what you want from the menu to your work area. If you need inspiration, browse through the multitude of collages other users have created of which, you can also narrow down your choices by selecting a main color. When you’ve finally got your outfit collage together, polyvore creates a link for you to post your creation in a blog or a message board. Take your creation a step further and actually bring your outfit to life. Each item you use is listed with the website link so you can purchase the item for your actual closet. Talk about making dreams come true.

Honored again with a new treasury

I studied graphic and Fashion Design in Argentina.Painting and designing is a true passion for me. I owe this to my Father, whose love for life, art and the needed inspired much of what I am today as an artist, person and believer.

In my designs I try to display awesome moments in life, colorful places, creatures and most of all things that inspire me to live and let live a better life. Seven years ago, I came to this wonderful country to work for a fashion designer. She was having very good and ambitious projects until September 11, when she decided to close her business and went back to Domenican Republic. But even with the bad situation ,momentarily, I started painting on jeans at her request with pictures remembering the Twin Towers and the World Trade Center and all who died and gave their lives there. It was a very ambiguous moment. With Clara Victoria, I worked in many artistic mediums and designed her collection for the Montreal Runway, but none activity have satisfied me more than painting on fabrics and canvas.

I started with different materials but I fell in love with jeans (denim , actually, a very loyal fabric). My work is defined by color, shine, glitters and fashion styles. I am constantly inspired by the graphic elements in nature and icons in every new design.
When I met Linda from the masterpiece Gallery of Boca Raton she told me try on canvas, and it worked amazingly!!

You can find me at etsy teams too: I'm a proud member of the FDLteam, MAG:Miami Artisan Guild, Etsyfest team and Hollywood Craft Mafia. On Indiepublic member of Poshmama,Land of etsy,Kawaii,I am a mom hear me roar,Craftymama and How do I get myself out there. My work is displayed at:Orkut.comFlickr:4f's groupTalentdatabase.comRedbubbleSmidge Canada dawanda Europe.

How to:First I choose the image who comes to my mind, maybe from nature, like birds or cities, or memories or maybe from any fashion event that I see. After this I translate this images to paper called "boceto" meaning the idea made real, but only in a simple graphic. Then I start developing my idea on canvas or jeans, and it follows the fabric paint with the glitters.Every painting has between 3 to 5 coats to create the colors I'm looking for. If needed I add glitters at the end and then a clear coat to keep it safe.Fabric paints can't be removed so ...I have to be super careful.Every artisitc piece is original. No copies. All unique even when they seems similar.

Connections:I love to send feedbacks and I love getting them! IN SINTESIS *Fashion Designer since 1992*Worked for trade marks and fashion brands in Argentina and United States*Sketched runways and events*Hand Painted art work on denim ( a very loyal fabric) and canvas are my favorites*Clothing ,shoes and accesories *Blessed in all for the LORD

Aly's Creation Feather based

Aly Hymel finished her necklace. She is a wonderful artist who displays her crafty imagination on crochet necklaces. Last week she requested some hand painted peacock feathers from me to create new additions to her shop. When she finished it she wrote me back an e-mail saying this: it was great to work with your art, look what I did !! Thanks for sharing your art with me, thanks for inspiring me to create this piece and thanks for being FDL team member!!!

and she added:
One of the trends this year has been feathers, they have inspired me to create several pieces of jewelry, but using what I love, crochet!
When I saw Nora's art I had this idea in my mind that somehow I could combine my crochet with her art , peacock is such a beautiful bird and it means so many great things in different cultures around the world, that reading about it, just made my imagination fly... after feeling the inspiration, this one is the is the result....!

Thanks Aly for all the compliments and I wish you all the best luck and sales with your new merchandise....And with all of you, wonderful bloggers, I share her inspiration and creativity
Cheers
