Aly's Creation Feather based
Aly Hymel finished her necklace. She is a wonderful artist who displays her crafty imagination on crochet necklaces. Last week she requested some hand painted peacock feathers from me to create new additions to her shop. When she finished it she wrote me back an e-mail saying this: it was great to work with your art, look what I did !! Thanks for sharing your art with me, thanks for inspiring me to create this piece and thanks for being FDL team member!!!
and she added:
One of the trends this year has been feathers, they have inspired me to create several pieces of jewelry, but using what I love, crochet!
When I saw Nora's art I had this idea in my mind that somehow I could combine my crochet with her art , peacock is such a beautiful bird and it means so many great things in different cultures around the world, that reading about it, just made my imagination fly... after feeling the inspiration, this one is the is the result....!
Thanks Aly for all the compliments and I wish you all the best luck and sales with your new merchandise....And with all of you, wonderful bloggers, I share her inspiration and creativity
Cheers

Join Palm Beach County Etsy Team
The Palm Beach County Etsy Team is ready. If you want to join e-mail me at norakaren2002@yahoo.com
Here are some ideas for new members and other artist that want to know what is the team about:
The Palm Beach County Etsy Team goals are : to promote artists and crafters that sell on Etsy and live in the Palm Beach County area : that means: Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach,Parkland,Delray beach,Boynton Beach and any other city included in Palm Beach and Surroundings.
We work together to inspire each other, advertise and promote our businesses, communicate and share each other’s experience , and make new friends.
Our team is important because:
All our members feel that we need to promote in the area, knowing the economy actual situation, join efforts to overcome our limits and have the chance to make our shops and arts known in the area. We want to start by preparing a local show followed by other activities that allows as to be ready for the new season. For many store owners this a new possibility because we are mostly new on etsy.
Getting together will open the doors to know what the market needs and what can we offer. We also know that our area is very turistic and we live from the early birds and people who come and go to Florida for retirement or vacation ,so we hope to keep our team and shops alive for the rest of the year.
We have a yahoo grups page for all artist and crafters interested in join:

Mamma Mia!
My mom insisted in going to the movies this coming weekend to watch, listen and learn, everything we can about the new Meryl Strip chick flick called Mamma Mia!
As an avid fan of ABBA (if you are not from the eighties you will never know)I'm kind of excited to have the opportunity of sharing this event with 3 generations, mama,me and my daughter. My sisters are coming too.And maybe my sister in-law. So what a ladies night!
In other order of things, christmas in july is still being promoted by our etsy teams
I can't mention all the shops because everyday more store owners are adding themselves to this promotion. Go and visit etsy, our shops and search with the tag christmasinjuly, all together, one word.
Finally, my latest creation:hand painted Zebra purse. The trends for winter are here now. Zebras all over the place that you can match with any black or white or neutral pair of your favorite shoes. Dress it up for tonight or just the best accesory for daytime.White 3-D hand painting Zebra Spot Soft Shoulder Tote Bag Handbag Purse, fashionably on style day or night.I kept the reverse plain black to play with the opportunitities to wear it!The strap has a buckle to adapt easily to your shoulder size.Zipper on top makes it super comfortable.
Nine West black leather look alike, painted in white shiny pearl fabric painting. All man made materials. One pocket inside protected with invisible black zipper ,You’ll find the purse super convenient to carry keys, lip goss or even your cell phone.
A bit larger than your typical hobo, this bag offers plenty of room for your checkbook and other essentials, too.Find it at www.norakaren.etsy.com

Get ready people, next week P.R. will be at 9.00 o'clock.

Concentric circles painted like retro stitches
I painted concentric circles like stitches in gold, copper, and bronze fabric paint to give the dress a sixties retro look. The bottom part of the dress looks like the belt and loops of a pair of jeans making it unique and so different.Dress it up with bronze strappy sandals to a very sassy night out or just rattan flip-flops for day time!.
Invisible Zipper in the side for a better fitting.
It is one of a kind and my original design.
This is the only one I have , no other sizes. No stencil, no copies. This is a unique hand painted Dress in dark brown denim from C-Loe Paris.
Talla 3 or size medium.
Measurements are : 38 " around bustier in the widest area ,33" waist , 40 " around hips and 30 1/2 " long from collar to lower end dress.
I use fabric paint. The paint doesn't fade and the colors stay shiny always. Glitters are water resistant because they are mixed with the paint.
Regular wash or hand wash is recommended. No dry clean, no bleach,no fabric softener, please. When iron , don't press on painting.
If you prefer to have it on your own favorite jeans ,jacket ,outfit, canvas or where your imagination goes , contact me and I will charge you only for the painting.
Hope you love it!!E-mail me for any questions at norakaren2002 [!at] yahoo.com

All that Glam!
One of the teams that I belong to is starting a june challenge about Glam, an incredible fashion era and state of mind that it seems to be coming back to us, to stay, I don't know for how long , probably the summer will me more than enough. I read in Glam boulevard , one of my fave fashion web sites about the collection Christian Lacroix is pushing forward based on a mix between insects and glam.
que tal? and if you have the chance take a look because it really is interesting. So getting some inspiration from here and there I'm on the process of finishing my beetle purse for the project of the FDL Team, Fashion,Design and Lifestyle. Take a look, leave a comment

One comment besides the fashion world is made to the 1st time babies go to the beach for 4th of july. Even with constant rain and some breezes our babies stayed there for 4 hours or more, eating ,off course and enjoying this great oportunity to celebrate de freedom of living in America. To all our gringo babies salut!

Believe....
Is the new theme of the baby onesies, hand painted with love and full of colors.
What is life without believing?
The little peacock comes in those always shiny blues, and changing feathers in green or purple. The same motif can be hand painted with a costumized name for your little one or anything else you want to add.
